Our conference will take place at Pavilion of Knowledge, home to Ciência Viva, the Portuguese agency to promote scientific culture and science education. The Pavilion is located at Parque das Nações, a part of Lisbon that flourished after the World Exhibition in 1998. Today, it is a busy business area and there are many hotels and restaurants nearby. Everything is in a 5-minute walking distance.
From the airport:
The Lisbon airport is really close to Parque das Nações, where Pavilion of Knowledge is located.
Taxi – you can take a taxi outside the airport. It is a quick ride and it should not cost you more than 10€.
Metro – Red Line – You can take the metro red line at the airport (direction to S. Sebastião) to ‘Oriente’ stop. It is a short ride – Oriente is the 3rd metro station after Airport. You need to buy a card (0,50€) and charge it. The minimum amount is 3€ and one ride costs 1,25€ using this card (you can find more info here). All the hotels are at a walking distance from ‘Estação do Oriente’, as you can see in the map.
How to get to Pavilion of Knowledge from the city centre
– Taxi: Using Terreiro do Paço square as a reference downtown, a taxi drive to Parque das Nações should cost you around 10-15€. It is usually a 10-15m ride.
– Metro: You can check the metro map here. You will probably will have to navigate a bit, and change lines, but Estação do Oriente is still your reference.
